At Terartai, sustainability has always been at the core of our championing for inclusivity. From using reclaimed wood to create our popup shop stands to using deadstock fabrics as our product lining, we knew we’ve always wanted to do more. And after months of R&D, we have.
Internally, our team has been dreaming up new ways of creating spaces where sustainability and inclusivity can work together. And one of the ways we’ve done that is through our partnership with Toko Encit.
Toko Encit is a Bandung based fabric company specializing in organic healthy fabrics like Tencel. And while we love their readily available natural fabrics, we took a different approach to sustainability-- using their off-cuts and B-grade rolls to create our newly designed impact labels.
Creating positive impact in the lives of our gifted artists and the earth is what we do all this for, and with our impact tags you can learn exactly how much of an impact you’ve made. And what better way to showcase that than with the very embodiment of our ethos? Simply by bringing new life to disregarded fabrics.
And the best part? This is just the beginning. Exciting things are brewing in our Terartai Upcycle Project and we cannot wait to show you exactly what we’re doing with 177.3 meters of imported deadstock fabrics, 11.8 kg of scrap fabrics, and 864 plastic bottle caps.
