What does Terartai mean?
We chose the name Terartai, drawing inspiration from the Indonesian word 'Teratai,' signifying lotus flowers. This choice reflects our appreciation for the lotus flower's philosophy, reminding us that every aspect of life has a purpose, and beauty can emerge from adversity.

Who are the artist and where are you based?
We are based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Our artists, ranging from 12 to 43 years old, form a diverse community of 22 individuals across Jakarta, Riau, and Riyadh. With conditions like autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and Asperger’s. Learn more about our artists here.

How does this benefit the artists?
In Terartai, Our artists' creations are transformed into a variety of products, from fashion items to home accessories. A portion of our proceeds is returned to the artists, providing them with a sustainable source of income and fostering their creative growth.

How much of the money goes to the artists?
Our artist receives between he allocation of funds to artists varies between 5% and 20%, contingent on the project type. We distribute these funds directly to the artists. Occasionally, we also contribute portions of our earnings to support special-needs non-profit organizations in need.

Is the packaging eco-friendly as well?
While we prioritize sustainability by reducing plastic usage in our packaging, we must occasionally use plastic for long-distance deliveries to safeguard our products' integrity.
